Museo e Galleria Borghese

I would highly recommend Villa Borghese to anyone visiting Roma. This beautiful 200 acre park is stunning and entertaining with so much to see and do (a restaurant and cafes, a movie theater, great running routes, a lake, gardens, fountains, rides for kiddos and a zoo!) Best of all you feel far away from the hustle and bustle of the busy city. The park houses the Borghese Museum and Gallery, which was designed in 1613 as a summer retreat for the nephew of Pope Paul V, who accumulated most of the art collection in the Museum. Many of Bernini's most impressive masterpieces are on display here and I had the pleasure of seeing all of the artwork earlier this month.
